EDIT: The latest Unreal Engine versions now support VS 2015. The information below in this post is now outdated.

Hi everyone,

Starting with both the Unreal Engine Editor and Visual Studio closed, right click your.uproject file and select Generate Visual Studio project files, and then launch visual studio from the.sln file. Once Visual Studio is open check your Solution Configuration is set to Development Editor. Then go to Debug Start without Debugging (or Ctrl-F5). If everything compiles and the Editor opens again then you're good to go. Step 1: Setup Visual Studio. Probably the most important step is setting up the system that will host the Azure build agent. Start by setting up Visual Studio 2019 as you would for any normal Unreal Engine project. I recently installed UE4 after installing visual studio 2017. I installed pretty much every single box on the visual studio installation but for some reason whenever I open UE4 and try switching to C it says that I need to install visual studio to use it. When trying to install Unreal Engine 4.20.1 it gets stuck as 'Queued'.

This guide helps you to install the PlayFab Marketplace Plugin and use it to make your first API call in Unreal.

Now that Microsoft has released Visual Studio 2015, and they are encouraging people to use their latest version, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that Unreal Engine 4 does not currently support Visual Studio 2015. Yet. We are working on finalizing support for Visual Studio 2015, and it will be coming soon in a future release version. For now, please continue to use Visual Studio 2013 as we will not be able to provide support for Visual Studio 2015 until the Engine officially supports it.

If you need to download Visual Studio 2013, you can do so from this page. Click 'Visual Studio 2013' on the left side of the page, and make sure Community is the selected option (or whichever version you are looking for). Choose your language and format from the options, and click Download. One quick note about the 'Web (Online)' format option: The file that was downloaded for me here in a couple instances did not have an extension. Adding a .exe extension allows you to then run the installer.

We will make sure to let you know when Visual Studio 2015 is supported by the Engine.

Unreal Engine Visual Studio Code

Hi,

Unreal Engine Visual Studio Version

I have a big problem with the Visual Studio ( tried in 2017 and 2019) auto-correct (IntelliSense). Some times it works, and, in a new Project or another C++ Class, it will not get Keywords highlighted and will not make any suggestions on auto-complete (which is frustrating in progress of learning UE4 C++).

Plex keeps losing remote access. I googled around since yesterday morning. The only workaround which seems to help ist to delete .vs, Binaries, Intermediate, Saved and *.sln in Project Folder and regenerate the VS Files.

But is this all? Why does this happen so often with new classes and I have to do this time-consuming workaround ?

Is this the right way? Do I miss something?

In the tutorials I watched, this was never a thing. I did exactly (checked multiple times), what is in the documentation on seting up Visual Studio for UE.

I am not new to programming, worked with BPs before and now wanted to start with C++ in UE4. But it is really frustrating and it really slows me down in learning. I lost hours on googleing workarounds, restaring UE4 and VS. Yesterday, after hours, I really thought about changing the Engine (Godot, Unity)…

I hope you guys can give me a little help. This is frustrating.

Thanks a lot! Connect iphone to lg tv screen share windows 10.
